Hi all,
I just took a road trip to Detroit to see my Purdue Boilermakers play (and win) the Elite Eight. I have some photos from this trip, and used this as an opportunity to get some roadway photos.
As this page is under construction, I won't get to post everything yet. I'll get to it.
Hi all,
I woke up this morning to see some transportation news: the Key Bridge in Baltimore collapsed because a barge struck the bridge.
I remember every time I drove by Baltimore, I would always see the Key Bridge. It was huge and I could feel how important this bridge was. I've been on the bridge in 2004, and I know that I'll never get to go on the Key Bridge that once was ever again.
Horrific scene for those injured and possible killed, condolences to all. It is a lot to imagine the terror of such a giant bridge crashing down.
And this has consequences for Baltimore: massive traffic jams on the tunnels, and HAZMATs have a massive detour to take. And the harbor will be closed for some time. This is a major harbor, second largest in the Northeast.
Condolences to those injured and potentially killed. What a loss, for the families and friends of those killed or injured, and for the city of Baltimore.
UPDATE: 2 confirmed fatalities, 4 presumed from the bridge collapse. Condolences to all.
UPDATE: I found out that I have been on the Key Bridge in 2004.
Welcome to Dyl's Roads and Travels. I created this site on March 17, 2024 to compile all of my road-related photos (and some bonuses for other transportation and travel). I have been photographing highways since at least 2012, so why not find somewhere to gather it all together. Most, if not all, of these photos are mine and/or taken with my camera.
And here are some thanks:
For the use of their cars: HNTB Corporation for company cars, and my parents.
For taking me on road trips as a passenger: My parents, my schools, Purdue student organizations, my classmates at Purdue.
For the use of their cameras: HNTB
For jump-starting the passion: Special shoutout to Steve Alpert of Alpsroads.net for inspiring this site, Freewayjim for his highway videos, and AARoads for further inspiration.
