CR 539 Alternate

CR 539 Alternate (signed as CR 539A) is a longer bypass of Allentown to the east, consisting of an upgraded portion of Sharon Station Road from CR 539 to CR 526. The route was established in 2009. While CR 539 Alternate only meets CR 539 at its southern end, its purpose as a through route connecting to I-195 (via CR 526 and CR 526 Spur, the "official" Allentown Bypass) rather than a spur route warrants this being an alternate route.

A roundabout at the southern end of CR 539A. The horse statue is an homage to the historic farmland of Upper Freehold, as well as the Upper Freehold Historic Farmland Scenic Byway that CR 539 is part of.

What's with the shape of these pentagons? Same issue throughout the route.

CR 539 Alternate is a divided highway for most of its length.

CR 539 Alternate ends at CR 526.

Monmouth County has considered extending CR 539 Alternate up to CR 524 by acquiring the segment of Sharon Station Road between CR 526 and 524. Additionally, the master plan also suggests a potential I-195 Exit 9 at Sharon Station Road (proposed CR 539 Alternate).
