CR 546

CR 546 is a short east-west county route in Mercer County. While the route mileage increases from west to east, photos will be in order from east to west because of the Washington Crossing Bridge just after the technical terminus of CR 546.

The entire route is in Mercer County.

CR 546 starts at US 1.

Typical oversized ugliness from Mercer County route shields.

Vintage! A cast iron street sign for destinations, up to standards for state highway signage in the 1920s. Well, CR 546 isn't a state highway, but there is a state-maintained railroad bridge nearby (credit to Alpsroads.net for the info).

More ugliness at the western end of CR 546 at NJ 29.

CR 546 ends at NJ 29. Ahead is the Washington Crossing Bridge.

More cast iron. A vintage restoration with an NJ monogram.

Entering New Jersey from the bridge.

The Washington Crossing Bridge, an old truss bridge connecting New Jersey and Pennsylvania. It's a pretty bridge, but driving on it is a harrowing experience thanks to narrow lanes.

Views of the Delaware River, where George Washington famously crossed on Christmas Day.
