CR 561 Bypass

CR 561 Bypass doesn't actually serve as a bypass for CR 561, but rather a bypass for CR 561 Alternate. This allows traffic headed to and from the south (such as Oceanville) to bypass the Smithville town center. 

Atlantic County recognizes and signs the bypass as CR 561 Bypass. However, NJDOT doesn't recognize the road as such on its SLDs (straight-line diagrams), but its state shapefiles for GIS recognize CR 561 Bypass as such.

CR 561 Bypass begins at US 9. Notice how there is no blue pentagon in the Smithville Boulevard overhead sign at the traffic light. That signal is likely a state-installed traffic light.
