I-496

I-496 directly services Michigan's capital city, Lansing. I-96 bypasses the city to the south.

I-496 begins at the palindromic concurrency of I-69 and I-96.

I-496 runs below street level in Lansing.

I-496 crosses the Grand River just to the south of downtown Lansing. The skyline of Lansing is visible at the bridge.

After passing through Lansing, I-496 overlaps US 127 just before East Lansing. The two routes stay together until I-496 junctions I-96 again, where the Interstate designation ends.
