I-676 in Pennsylvania

 (and US 30)

The start of I-676 at I-76. US 30 transfers onto I-676 and uses I-676 for the remainder of its length in Pennsylvania.

I-676 crosses the Schuylkill River into Center City.

Note how PA 611 is spelled out instead of a shield being used. This is because of the limited space for BGSs in the Vine Street Expressway.

I-676 and US 30 leave the Vine Street Expressway to use surface streets to connect to the Ben Franklin Bridge. I-676 is officially continuous and uses the surface streets, but PennDOT considers I-676 to end at I-95.

Not I-676, but here is the Vine Street Expressway leading to I-95. This is what PennDOT considers as the routing of I-676, as opposed to the FHWA definition.

Some of the traffic lights I-676 encounters when connecting from the Ben Franklin Bridge to the Vine Street Expressway. This is in the westbound direction. This photo was taken in 2016, by 2024, the I-676 shield on the BGS faded and was patched over.

The 2024 patch-over. Why is there still white space left?

I-676 and US 30 cross into New Jersey. Here, I-676 switches directions from east-west in Pennsylvania to north-south in New Jersey.
