I-76 in New Jersey

I-76 has a short length in New Jersey.

I-76 enters New Jersey midspan on the Walt Whitman Bridge.

As I-76 enters NJ, the Pennsylvania exit numbers continue. Exit 354 is the highest exit number in New Jersey.

I-76 and I-676 split. I-676 continues the North-South Freeway. The exit numbers on I-76 are a continuation of the North-South Freeway exit numbers when they reset at I-295 (although the road exits itself).

After the Walt Whitman Bridge, I-76 is on the incredibly wide and busy North-South Freeway.

A small, state-name I-76 shield along the North-South Freeway.

The junction with I-295 and NJ 42 has been under construction since time immemorial (or 2013). I-76 ends here and transitions into NJ 42.

So for as long as over a decade, the I-295/NJ 42/I-76 Direct Connection has been under construction. That has been:
  • As long as the entire 4-team college football playoff lasted (From the 2014-2015 season to the 2023-2024 season)
  • As long as CFB coaches' tenures with some programs! Examples: Jeff Brohm's tenure at Purdue (2017-2022), Jim Harbaugh's tenure at Michigan (2014-2024)
  • I started high school when this was being built, and I graduated high school with this still being built.
  • I also started attending Purdue when this was being built, and per schedule, I'll graduate from Purdue before I'll see this project wrap up!
  • The I-295 Missing Moves were wrapped up in 3 years while this was under construction.
I just wanted to have some humor. That's all!
