The shortest primary interstate in Indiana. I-94 parallels the Lake Michigan shore and is part of the Chicago to Detroit corridor.
I-80/I-94 (Borman Expressway):
The Borman Expressway starts at the Indiana-Illinois line as the eastern continuation of the Kingery Expressway.
Why isn't there an actual control city on I-80 east beyond TOLL ROAD? I thought this led to Toledo.
This stretch of road is also known as the Borman Expressway. This was the last portion of the Chicago to Detroit highway to be completed, so this was called the Cornfield Roadblock until it was built. But much of the cornfields may be gone because of development.
At this interchange, I-80 departs from I-94 to start its long overlap with I-90. The Borman Expressway name ends here.
I-94 alone:
The green covers up a US 35 shield and the NORTH direction, because US 35 was truncated to US 20 in 2008. US 35 used to extend into Michigan City.
