The John A. Roebling Bridge was one of the first bridges across the Ohio River. Connecting Covington with Cincinnati, John Roebling engineered the bridge to span the wide Ohio River. The span opened in 1867 and has stood strong since. This bridge is a continuation of a lineage of early American suspension bridge innovation from the Wheeling Suspension Bridge to Roebling's most famous work, the Brooklyn Bridge.
