Main Street, Lebanon (Former US 22)

US 22 (and its predecessors, NJH 28 and NJSHR 9) used to run through downtown Lebanon. A bypass of the town would be built, diverting the busy highway away from the town center.

More of Main Street in Lebanon.

There are two old bridges in Lebanon that indicate the road was built as a state highway. The inscriptions are more visible on the western bridge, but the eastern bridge also has them.

An inscription for NJSHR 9 on the western bridge.

The western bridge was built in 1921, per the inscription.

Onto the eastern bridge. Interestingly, this bridge was built in 1926.
