The Morristown Line begins at New York Penn Station or Hoboken Terminal, and shares trackage with several other rail lines before those lines branch off. The Morristown Line continues sharing trackage with the Montclair-Boonton Line until Roseville Avenue in Newark, where the Montclair-Boonton Line splits to head towards the titular towns. The Morristown Line runs independently until Dover, where the Montclair-Boonton Line rejoins. The line ends at Hackettstown.
