NJ 163

NJ 163 is an unsigned route that is the old approach road to Darlington's Bridge at Delaware Station. Darlington's Bridge at Delaware Station used to be US 46 until 1953 (yes, US 46 actually entered another state!), and then it was renumbered to NJ 163. However, the bridge was destroyed in floods in 1955, leaving this stub behind.

The start of NJ 163 at US 46.

This is the original concrete pavement from the 1950s. Minimal use because this road connects to nowhere.

An old state-built bridge indicates the old designation of NJ 163 before US 46, NJSHR 5.

The northern end of NJ 163 is at the crest of the hill. Darlington's Bridge at Delaware Station used to curve to the west from here.

This connector between NJ 163 at the crest of the hill and US 46 is actually the original ramp from NJ 163 SB to US 46 WB.
