NJ 18

This route is primarily a multilane freeway or arterial. The portion between the Garden State Parkway and I-95 is also crucial because trucks are banned from the Garden State Parkway north of the NJ 18 junction (Exit 105), so trucks use NJ 18 to access South Jersey. Route 18 also has a stub end, where the road should have extended around 6 miles to the south to meet NJ 70, NJ 34, and NJ 35.

NJ 18 freeway (Monmouth County):

This is rare. Clearview in New Jersey.

What is this ugliness on the US 9 shield?!

NJ 18 arterial:

After the US 9 junction, NJ 18 downgrades to an arterial.

CR 516 begins at NJ 18.

Along the NJ 18 arterial.

An old designation! NJ 18 used to be a spur from NJ 28 known as NJSHR S-28.

NJ 18 at a junction with the NJ Turnpike / I-95.

NJ 18 comes to a tight modified cloverleaf interchange with US 1. This interchange has three loop ramps and a US 1 SB - NJ 18 SB flyover ramp for the left turn movements. Additionally, the Highland Park banner under New Brunswick covers Exits and was installed between 2016-2017, likely when NJDOT determined Highland Park makes more sense to sign than just New Brunswick Exits.

After this intersection with Paulus Boulevard, the NJ 18 freeway resumes.

NJ 18 freeway (New Brunswick):

NJ 18 intersects NJ 172. CR 527 departs from NJ 18 to follow the entirety of NJ 172.

What is this capitalization error? Easton AVE should be Easton Ave.

NJ 18 crosses the Raritan River into Piscataway.

NJ 18 arterial (Piscataway):

The northern terminus of NJ 18 at I-287, exit 8. This is the most recently constructed section of highway. And technically, the connection between I-287 NB to NJ 18 along Possumtown Road is known as NJ 18 Spur. The mainline technically ends at the I-287 SB ramps.
