NJ 32

A road that was meant for much more.

This is the easternmost portion of the cancelled NJ 92 freeway, or at least the more recent proposed alignment of NJ 92. The other proposed alignment of NJ 92 was partially built as the NJ 133 freeway and the short NJ 64. So, both alignments of NJ 92 were only partially built.

NJ 92 would have connected the NJ Turnpike/I-95 to US 1, with NJ 32 being the portion that was built between US 130 and the NJ Turnpike/I-95. There are still some signs that NJ 32 was supposed to extend as a freeway, such as a wide split and curves akin to an interchange when NJ 32 intersects US 130 at-grade. But NJ 32 is still regionally important, connecting US 130 to the NJ Turnpike/I-95, CR 535, and industrial parks and warehouses.

The western terminus of NJ 32 at US 130. See what I mean about wide spacing like an interchange, plus the large curve?

Around the midpoint of NJ 32. In the distance is the NJ Turnpike/I-95, the eastern end of NJ 32.
