The NJDOT headquarters is located in Ewing, just outside of Trenton.
Sign Shop:
Right near the headquarters is the sign shop, and though you need permission to enter the shop itself, you can always look at signs that are either in the yard or when one of the buildings has open doors.
From August 2023. This is a BGS that will be over I-295 in advance of Exit 47 for CR 541.
From July 2024. This old cast iron sign was up to state highway standards at the time. This sign was at the intersection of Bordentown Avenue and South Pine Avenue in Perth Amboy, along the former routing of NJ 35 (then NJSHR 4). South Amboy is 6 miles west (sign route north) of Keyport, as well as 16 miles north of Red Bank, and 26 miles north of Asbury Park. From July 2024. A milepost for I-295 SB that will eventually be placed.
From July 2024. A BGS that indicates Exit 26 for CR 555. This will be on NJ 55.
From July 2024. An assortment of signs. One is an overhead blade for NJ 124, one is an I-78 EB milepost, one is a ramp speed limit sign, and one indicates Thomas Edison University.
