US 322 Business is the original route of US 322 through Mullica Hill. One third of the route follows NJ 45, but the remainder is independent* and unsigned.
*yes, CR 536 does still follow US 322 Business. However, west of Williamstown, CR 536 is largely unsigned with one exception. And that exception is here.
From NJ 45 NB, the start of independent US 322 Business. And yes, CR 536 does follow US 322 Business. This is the only CR 536 sign west of Williamstown. However, the CR 536 sign is useless because west of Williamstown, CR 536 is completely unsigned during its overlap with US 322. So why hasn't CR 536 been deleted west of Williamstown? Also, it makes sense to sign US 322 Business as US 322 from NJ 45 NB because it's the shorter route as opposed to jogging north to take the Mullica Hill Bypass. But I would replace this sign as TO US 322 EAST and get rid of CR 536.
Why did NJDOT replace the overhead sign blades to reflect what once was (NJ 45 / US 322 concurrency) instead of what really is? Also, there should be a TO before NJ 77.
Mounted at a local barbeque, appropriately called the 322 BBQ. This is a US 322 shield, but I don't think it was taken from Mullica Hill Road. A neat touch, though.
The distance sign is a remnant of when this was US 322.
