CR 517

A north-south county route from Oldwick to the New York line.

Hunterdon County:

The start of CR 517 at CR 523.

CR 517 passes through the historic community of Oldwick.

CR 517 meets CR 512 in Fairmount.

Morris County:

CR 517 enters Morris County just after CR 512.

Just before meeting CR 513, this truck advisory sign diverts overweight vehicles to CR 513 NB.

Control cities at the CR 513 junction.

CR 517 meets CR 513 in Long Valley. Here, old NJ 24 transfers from CR 513 to CR 517.

Right before the German Valley Bridge, after CR 517 intersects CR 513. Any signs for CR 517 in Morris County do not have directional banners, somehow.

The historic German Valley Bridge takes CR 517 into Long Valley. Read the plaque for more information.

CR 517 / old NJ 24 in Long Valley.

CR 517 / old NJ 24 in Schooley's Mountain.

At the southern terminus of NJ 182 / eastern terminus of NJ 57 / western terminus of Old NJ 24. CR 517 is the through route.

What is this? I get that NJ 24 used to be here, and many people still call this NJ 24. But keyword: used to. Every last NJ 24 sign west of Morristown has been eliminated, except this one. And NJ 24 has never run north-south. So Warren County or Morris County, please get rid of this sign. This sign is also on the Morris County side of the Musconetcong River, so please revise this for accuracy.

Warren County:

CR 517 follows the entirety of NJ 182 before following US 46 through downtown Hackettstown. See the NJ 182 page for photos.

CR 517 after departing from US 46 in Hackettstown. This shield is actually recycled from CR 638, see the image below:

The iconic Mars Wrigley headquarters along CR 517. Look at the M&Ms here. Every pack of M&Ms you have ever had is packaged here.

Sussex County:

CR 517 in Green Township, Sussex County.

CR 517 has a short overlap with US 206 through the town center of Andover.

CR 517 near NJ 181.

CR 517 in Ogdensburg.

CR 517 overlaps NJ 23, then departs.

CR 517 overlaps NJ 94 in a wrong-way concurrency.

One of the most unique features about Sussex County are these directional signs that I don't really see in other New Jersey counties.

The Appalachian Trail crosses CR 517.

I wonder what this is doing on CR 517. There is an NJDOT label here. Probably an NJDOT survey marker?

CR 517 comes to the northern end of CR 565.

CR 517 near its northern terminus at the New York state line.
