, current Essex CR 608, CR 649CR 527 Spur has been deleted. Both in Somerset County and Essex County. So I don't know why NJDOT signed this one, inconsistent not just to their records but also inconsistent with Essex County's other signs. Essex County mostly signs this as CR 608 and CR 649, and those are the true designations. But some newer signs sign this one! At least in Somerset County, those signs are historic. Here, these are new mounts.
Essex CR 608:
Hobart Gap Road, CR 608, winds through Short Hills, and only has two signs for CR 527 Spur. The NORTH SPUR CR 527 sign at the NJ 124 intersection, and a perpendicular sign. But most signs read CR 608 anyways, so please delete CR 527 Spur from signage!
Essex CR 649 (Livingston Avenue):
The former CR 527 Spur turns north on Livingston Avenue, present day CR 649, and reaches CR 527. Hobart Gap Road and CR 608 continue west. These photos are in the Northfield section of Livingston.
