Former NJH 30 in Hunterdon County

NJH 30 is the former designation for NJ 31. There are multiple segments of its former alignment in Hunterdon County.

Glen Gardner:

NJH 30 was routed along Main Street in Glen Gardner. NJ 31 was built to bypass this area so that the small town wouldn't be overwhelmed by traffic.

The most notable feature along former NJH 30 is the historic Glen Gardner Pony Pratt Truss Bridge. This is one of three cast and wrought iron Pratt truss bridges still extant in New Jersey. It's a good thing NJ 31 bypassed Glen Gardner because if NJ 31 still went through town, this bridge could have been done for.
