Before all routes within I-465 were routed along or truncated to I-465, US 136 used to enter Indianapolis to end at US 36. Most notably, historic US 136 is at the gates of the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Crawfordsville Road ends at 16th Street, where historic US 136 continues east on 16th Street.
The world-famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway is along historic US 136.
