I-295 in New Jersey

I-295 spends the majority of its length in New Jersey, serving as a bypass of Wilmington and Philadelphia, as well as a partial beltway of Trenton.

I-295 crosses into New Jersey from the Delaware Memorial Bridge. The New Jersey Turnpike technically begins here.

From 2013 onwards, this interchange has been under construction to provide a high-speed connection for I-295 and remove the effective concurrency I-295 had with I-76/NJ 42.

I-295 northbound tunnels under its future mainline. This tunnel, while currently carrying the I-295 northbound mainline, will eventually only carry the ramp from I-76 eastbound to I-295 northbound.

Exit 28 connects to NJ 168, one of two ways to transfer between I-295 and the NJ Turnpike.

Near Bordentown, I-295 has a view of the Delaware River.
