New Jersey Turnpike - Pennsylvania Turnpike Extension (I-95)

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Extension connects the New Jersey Turnpike to the Pennsylvania Turnpike and serves as a crucial connection in the Interstate Highway System. With the cancellation of the Somerset Freeway, a gap was left in I-95 that was only filled in 2018 when a direct interchange between the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-276) and I-95 was built in Pennsylvania. This resulted in the easternmost stretch of the Pennsylvania Turnpike and the entire Pennsylvania Turnpike Extension becoming I-95.

Northbound:

The Delaware River–Turnpike Toll Bridge, a through arch bridge connecting two turnpikes.

The state line between Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Exit 6A serves as a connection between I-95 and US 130. It is only signed as EXIT, and considered EXIT 6 in terms of tolling.

All mileposts have PWE for Pennsylvania Extension. I don't know where W came from, though.

Northbound traffic gets to exit for free onto US 130. This is the unsigned Exit 6A.

The Exit 6 barrier toll plaza.

I-95 prepares to take over the mainline of the NJ Turnpike. Notice how the NJ Turnpike SB (NJ 700) is signed as the exit, and I-95 is the mainline.

Southbound:

Look at these control cities. These indicate I-95 (Philadelphia), I-276 (start of the signed Pennsylvania Turnpike), and a destination along the Pennsylvania Turnpike (Harrisburg).

Penn Turnpike as a shortened form of Pennsylvania Turnpike. And unsigned Exit 6A for US 130.
