NPS 615 is the southern extension of Sussex CR 615. The road was built as the Columbia and Walpack Turnpike, an alternative to Old Mine Road that provides a more direct route between Millbrook and Walpack. The turnpike would be realigned because of water issues, leading to abandoned alignments in Millbrook and the creation of NPS 615 in Walpack.
The southern terminus of NPS 615 at Old Mine Road.
Pompey Road at NPS 615.
NPS 615 in the scenic and sparsely populated Wallpack Valley.
These mileposts start from Old Mine Road in Flatbrookville and are continued on CR 615.
NPS 615 passes by the Walpack Inn.
The northern terminus of NPS 615 in Peters Valley, historically known as Bevans. The road transitions to CR 615 at Kuhn Road.
Kuhn Road at NPS 615 / CR 615. This sign is a mess. Layton / Dingmans is accessed from a shaper left onto Walpack Road, while Branchville and Route 206 are accessible from a gentler left onto Bevans Road (CR 615). The sign is correct for Walpack and Flatbrookville.
The route transition.
