IN 526 was a designation that connected the Purdue University Airport to IN 26 and IN 126 (Cherry Lane). This route was deleted in 2013 when all state routes in Lafayette and West Lafayette were truncated and US 52 / US 231 were routed to bypass the two cities.
Westwood, home of the Purdue University President, is located along former IN 526.
INDOT right-of way markers indicate former state maintenance of the road.
The northern terminus of former IN 526 at former IN 126. McCormick Road continues north and once extended all the way to US 52 / 231 (before the new alignment of that road absorbed the northernmost portion of McCormick). I'm surprised INDOT didn't extend IN 526 all the way to US 52 / 231 when IN 526 existed.
