Old IN 25

With the deletion of IN 25 through Lafayette and the construction of the Hoosier Heartland Highway, many segments of IN 25 were relinquished, leaving Old IN 25 behind.

Lafayette:

IN 25 had multiple former alignments in Lafayette. The majority of them overlapped with former or current alignments of US 52 and US 231, but the oldest alignment of IN 25 had an independent routing for a portion of it.

After leaving former US 231, IN 25 transfers onto Union Street (northbound) and Salem Street (southbound). I am surprised IN 25 didn't just stay on Fannon Drive to Greenbush Street.

IN 25 transferred onto 14th Street.

IN 25 used a short half-block of Greenbush Street to transfer onto 15th Street.

Old IN 25 on 15th Street.

15th Street becomes Schuyler Avenue at Underwood Street.

Old IN 25 junctions Sagamore Parkway, former US 52.

Lafayette to Delphi:

The longest continuous segment of Old IN 25 runs from Lafayette to Delphi.

Old IN 25 comes to a junction with IN 225.

Old IN 25 comes to grading of... its own former alignment!

A former state-standard county line sign.

A former state-standard milepost.

Evidence of former IN 25: This signpost. There used to be an IN 25 sign here to the right of the IN 39 shield.

More proof of former IN 25: junction signs in Delphi.

Northeast of Delphi, old IN 25 comes to a stub of its former grading. Old IN 25 had a railroad bridge here until the Hoosier Heartland Highway and its own railroad bridges were built.
